Welcome...

      ...to my website!  I set it up in 2005 so that I could update my father's research into our family tree and, so far, there are over 37,000 individual records.

      I have spent the past few weeks upgrading the site and am now beginning to diversify.  My first ever venture into the world of blogging is now at The Gritquoy Blog.

      The Gritquoy Forum is also now online - please join us to help me build up a useful resource which relates to this site, in particular, and to family history research, in general.

      I hope visitors here will forgive me, but it is a hard fact: family research and running a website such as this costs money!  You will see quite a few advertisements on the site and I have tried to mark them clearly so that they aren't too intrusive.

      If you were to buy anything using one of my links then I could receive a small commission and if you added the link to your bookmarks or favourites that would be really helpful.  I would like to thank those people who have already done so - I cannot do this personally, I'm afraid, because it is all done anonymously so I don't know who you are!
